TrainPlayer-TrackLayer 9.0 Readme

Welcome to Version 9.0!

This version brings you Loco View, a fun new way of watching the scenery go by as you drive!  Also included are bug fixes and improvements, especially for users of Anyrail, and the goods are now available in a new delivery vehicle: the TrainPlayer Drive, a stylish wood-encased USB drive containing Version 9.0 along with our entire database of layouts, cars, and other data.

There is a charge for the upgrade to existing users -- $19 for a Loco View license.  See the details and get your copy from the 9.0 Features Page.

Licensing Scheme

You can run the program without a license for an unlimited time. When the program is running as a free demo version, it includes all the features of TrainPlayer and TrackLayer, but with limitations:

• Does not allow printing
• Does not allow exporting to graphics file
• Does not allow saving changes made to track or scenery
• Provides limited access to layouts and cars on website

To purchase a license, go to the TrainPlayer Products Page on the web, or use Help > Check for Upgrades in the program.

Once you have purchased a license and received it by e-mail, enter it using the Help > Upgrade License command.

How to install

To install by download from the web:  go to the 9.0 Download Page.

To install from TP Drive: insert the drive.  Open File Explorer, locate TP Drive, open it and double-click setup.exe. (These instructions are on the package, with illustrations.)

If you have a TP Drive, leave it inserted while you run the program.  That will give you easy access to our huge collection of layouts and cars.

License

• install the software for your personal use on one or more machines.
• distribute the installer freely. Without a license key, the installer is a free demo version.
• use layouts as delivered with the program or downloaded from the TrainPlayer web site, in accordance with your license. You will not be able to download layouts for which you are not licensed.
• request support by e-mail.

If you have not purchased a license, you may use the trial version free. The trial version does not have the full set of features of the licensed version, and comes with only a small set of layouts. To obtain full capabilities, you must purchase a license.

You may not:

• distribute, post, or make public any license key or download link we provide.
• modify the software or documentation.
• make copies of the distributed TP Drive, except for your own personal use as backup.

The program is not without bugs. If you find one, we encourage you to report it, and we will do our best to fix it in an upcoming version.
